Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work Light Abstraction by Edward W. Quigley was auctioned at Bonhams in London in July this year, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of USD 1,000.00 – 2,000.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for USD 704.00 (€ 638.84). Admittedly, works by Edward W. Quigley have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Selected industrial abstractions, 1930s in February 2007 with an auction result of USD 6,000.00 (€ 4,535.15).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als die Arbeit Light Abstraction von Edward W. Quigley im Juli diesen Jahres bei Bonhams in London versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 1.000,00 – 2.000,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für USD 704,00 (€ 638,84) den Besitzer. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Edward W. Quigley auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Selected industrial abstractions, 1930s im Februar 2007 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 6.000,00 (€ 4.535,15).
