Upper estimate price exceeded by more than 100%
This artwork by Edward W. Quigley achieved an unexpectedly high price at Sothebys in New York in December 2020. In the Photographs from the Ginny Williams Collection auction, the work Airplane Propeller sold for USD 1,512.00 (€ 1,236.30) - well above the upper estimate of USD 700.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Edward W. Quigley - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Selected industrial abstractions, 1930s, which sold at auction in February 2007 for USD 6,000.00 (€ 4,535.15).
Oberer Schätzpreis um mehr als 100% übertroffen
Dieses Kunstwerk von Edward W. Quigley erzielte im Dezember 2020 bei Sothebys in New York einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Photographs from the Ginny Williams Collection wurde die Arbeit Airplane Propeller für USD 1.512,00 (€ 1.236,30) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von USD 700,00. Für andere Arbeiten von Edward W. Quigley mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Selected industrial abstractions, 1930s beobachtet, die im Februar 2007 für USD 6.000,00 (€ 4.535,15) versteigert wurde.
