Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Light Years: Conceptual Art and the Photograph (Hand Showing Book Cover), 1964-1977 by Ed Ruscha was sold in the Editions & Works on Paper auction at Phillips in New York in October 2021. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of USD 3,000.00 – 5,000.00, the actual price achieved of USD 3,024.00 (€ 2,617.73) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Ed Ruscha achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Hurting the Word Radio #2 in November 2019 with an auction result of USD 52,485,000.00 (€ 47,631,364.01).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Light Years: Conceptual Art and the Photograph (Hand Showing Book Cover), 1964-1977 von Ed Ruscha wurde im Oktober 2021 in der Auktion Editions & Works on Paper bei Phillips in New York versteigert. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 3.000,00 – 5.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von USD 3.024,00 (€ 2.617,73) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Ed Ruscha erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Hurting the Word Radio #2 im November 2019 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 52.485.000,00 (€ 47.631.364,01).
