Upper estimate price exceeded by more than 100%
This artwork by Ed Baynard achieved an unexpectedly high price at Christies in New York in September 2006. In the Prints and Multiples auction, the work The Blue Tulips (T. 76) sold for USD 2,640.00 (€ 2,080.87) - well above the upper estimate of USD 1,200.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Ed Baynard - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Quarter Moon, which sold at auction in August this year for USD 5,760.00 (€ 5,314.14).
Oberer Schätzpreis um mehr als 100% übertroffen
Dieses Kunstwerk von Ed Baynard erzielte im September 2006 bei Christies in New York einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Prints and Multiples wurde die Arbeit The Blue Tulips (T. 76) für USD 2.640,00 (€ 2.080,87) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von USD 1.200,00. Für andere Arbeiten von Ed Baynard mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Quarter Moon beobachtet, die im August diesen Jahres für USD 5.760,00 (€ 5.314,14) versteigert wurde.
