Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
The work Sunbather by Duane Hanson was auctioned at Christies in London in February 2011. Here, the upper estimate of GBP 100,000.00 was slightly exceeded - the artwork found a new owner for GBP 109,250.00 (€ 128,687.36). However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Duane Hanson - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Cowboy, which sold at auction in May last year for USD 428,400.00 (€ 399,217.22).
Oberer Schätzpreis leicht übertroffen
Die Arbeit Sunbather von Duane Hanson kam im Februar 2011 bei Christies in London zur Auktion. Dabei wurde der obere Schätzpreis von GBP 100.000,00 leicht übertroffen – das Kunstwerk fand für GBP 109.250,00 (€ 128.687,36) einen neuen Besitzer. Für andere Arbeiten von Duane Hanson mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Cowboy beobachtet, die im Mai letzten Jahres für USD 428.400,00 (€ 399.217,22) versteigert wurde.
