Auction result misses estimated price range
This work of art by Dorothy Dehner could be acquired at Christies in New York in September 2016 for an unexpectedly low price. In the First Open | Post-War and Contemporary Art | NY auction, the work Chess Set changed hands for USD 3,000.00 (€ 2,669.51) - missing the lower end of the estimate range of USD 5,000.00 – 7,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Dorothy Dehner achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Septenarius in October 2020 with an auction result of USD 100,800.00 (€ 86,545.89).
