Auction result misses estimated price range
In September 2016 a collector was able to acquire the work Bridge for Li-Po by Dorothy Dehner for USD 6,875.00 (€ 6,117.64). This price was achieved in the auction First Open | Post-War and Contemporary Art | NY at Christies in New York and was even below the estimate range of USD 8,000.00 – 12,000.00 set by the auction house. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Dorothy Dehner achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Septenarius in October 2020 with an auction result of USD 100,800.00 (€ 86,545.89).
