This artwork by Djoko Pekik achieved an unexpectedly high price at Christies in Hong Kong in April 2002. In the SOUTHEAST ASIAN & 20TH CENTURY INDIAN PICTURES auction, the work Mother and child sold for HKD 101,575.00 (€ 14,465.58) - well above the upper estimate of HKD 35,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Djoko Pekik - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Kuda Lumping, which sold at auction in October 2003 for HKD 334,600.00 (€ 37,094.51).

Dieses Kunstwerk von Djoko Pekik erzielte im April 2002 bei Christies in Hong Kong einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion SOUTHEAST ASIAN & 20TH CENTURY INDIAN PICTURES wurde die Arbeit Mother and child für HKD 101.575,00 (€ 14.465,58) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von HKD 35.000,00. Für andere Arbeiten von Djoko Pekik mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Kuda Lumping beobachtet, die im Oktober 2003 für HKD 334.600,00 (€ 37.094,51) versteigert wurde.
