In May 2015 Christies in Hong Kong held the auction Asian 20th Century Art (Day Sale), which included the work Tukang Becak Momong (Trishaw Rider Taking Care of a Child) by Djoko Pekik. The »bidding war« ended at HKD 156,250.00 (€ 18,333.86), 30% above the upper estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Djoko Pekik - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Kuda Lumping, which sold at auction in October 2003 for HKD 334,600.00 (€ 37,094.51).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 30 % übertroffen
Im Mai 2015 führte Christies in Hong Kong die Auktion Asian 20th Century Art (Day Sale) durch, in der auch die Arbeit Tukang Becak Momong (Trishaw Rider Taking Care of a Child) von Djoko Pekik zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von HKD 156.250,00 (€ 18.333,86) und damit 30% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Für andere Arbeiten von Djoko Pekik mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Kuda Lumping beobachtet, die im Oktober 2003 für HKD 334.600,00 (€ 37.094,51) versteigert wurde.
