Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Women Carrying Rice by Djoko Pekik was auctioned at Sothebys in Hong Kong in April 2017. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of HKD 40,000.00 – 60,000.00, the actual price achieved of HKD 43,750.00 (€ 5,164.07) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Admittedly, works by Djoko Pekik have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Kuda Lumping in October 2003 with an auction result of HKD 334,600.00 (€ 37,094.51).
