Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work Mother And Child by Djoko Pekik was auctioned at Sothebys in Hong Kong in April 2017, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of HKD 50,000.00 – 70,000.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for HKD 47,500.00 (€ 5,606.70). Admittedly, works by Djoko Pekik have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Kuda Lumping in October 2003 with an auction result of HKD 334,600.00 (€ 37,094.51).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als die Arbeit Mother And Child von Djoko Pekik im April 2017 bei Sothebys in Hong Kong versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von HKD 50.000,00 – 70.000,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für HKD 47.500,00 (€ 5.606,70) den Besitzer. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Djoko Pekik auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Kuda Lumping im Oktober 2003 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von HKD 334.600,00 (€ 37.094,51).
