Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Wittgenstein’s Bathroom by Dexter Dalwood was sold in the 20th Century & Contemporary Art Day Sale auction at Phillips in London in October 2017. The price achieved of GBP 50,000.00 (€ 57,009.79) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 40,000.00 – 60,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Dexter Dalwood - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Brian Jones' Swimming Pool, which sold at auction in February 2007 for GBP 144,000.00 (€ 213,474.83).
