Auction result misses estimated price range
In October 2008 a collector was able to acquire the work Sightless by Derek Jarman for GBP 3,500.00 (€ 4,461.24). This price was achieved in the auction 20th Century British Art at Christies in London and was even below the estimate range of GBP 4,000.00 – 6,000.00 set by the auction house. Admittedly, works by Derek Jarman have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Sightless in October 2001 with an auction result of GBP 18,800.00 (€ 30,383.54).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Im Oktober 2008 konnte ein Sammler die Arbeit Sightless von Derek Jarman für GBP 3.500,00 (€ 4.461,24) erwerben. Dieser Preis wurde in der Auktion 20th Century British Art bei Christies in London erzielt und lag noch unterhalb der von dem Auktionshaus angesetzten Schätzpreisspanne von GBP 4.000,00 – 6.000,00. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Derek Jarman auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Sightless im Oktober 2001 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 18.800,00 (€ 30.383,54).
