Sold at the lower estimate price
In September 2019 Sothebys in London held the auction Made in Britain, which included the work Carah by Denis Mitchell. The result of GBP 4,000.00 (€ 4,513.53) was exactly at the lower end of the estimate range of GBP 4,000.00 – 6,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Denis Mitchell achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Botallack in November 2016 with an auction result of GBP 75,000.00 (€ 88,492.63).
Zuschlag beim unteren Schätzpreis
Im September 2019 führte Sothebys in London die Auktion Made in Britain durch, in der auch die Arbeit Carah von Denis Mitchell zur Versteigerung kam. Das dabei erzielte Ergebnis von GBP 4.000,00 (€ 4.513,53) entsprach exakt dem unteren Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von GBP 4.000,00 – 6.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Denis Mitchell erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Botallack im November 2016 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 75.000,00 (€ 88.492,63).
