Upper estimate price exceeded by more than 100%
This artwork by Denis Mitchell achieved an unexpectedly high price at Bonhams in London in November last year. In the Modern British and Irish Art auction, the work Polzeath 31.6 cm. (12 3/8 in.) high (including the base) sold for GBP 26,760.00 (€ 31,008.73) - well above the upper estimate of GBP 12,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Denis Mitchell - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Botallack, which sold at auction in November 2016 for GBP 75,000.00 (€ 88,492.63).
Oberer Schätzpreis um mehr als 100% übertroffen
Dieses Kunstwerk von Denis Mitchell erzielte im November letzten Jahres bei Bonhams in London einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Modern British and Irish Art wurde die Arbeit Polzeath 31.6 cm. (12 3/8 in.) high (including the base) für GBP 26.760,00 (€ 31.008,73) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von GBP 12.000,00. Für andere Arbeiten von Denis Mitchell mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Botallack beobachtet, die im November 2016 für GBP 75.000,00 (€ 88.492,63) versteigert wurde.
