Auction result well in line with expectations
In June 2021 Sothebys in London held the auction Modern & Post War British Art Day Sale, which included the work Angove by Denis Mitchell. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 18,000.00 – 25,000.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 18,900.00 (€ 22,023.41) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Admittedly, works by Denis Mitchell have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Botallack in November 2016 with an auction result of GBP 75,000.00 (€ 88,492.63).
