Auction result misses estimated price range
This work of art by Dean Byington could be acquired at Christies in New York in October 2018 for an unexpectedly low price. In the The Collection of Melva Bucksbaum: Post-War and Contemporary Art, Photographs and Prints auction, the work The Bees and the Ants #1 changed hands for USD 4,375.00 (€ 3,860.75) - missing the lower end of the estimate range of USD 6,000.00 – 8,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Dean Byington - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Greenhouses, which sold at auction in March 2017 for USD 13,750.00 (€ 12,852.87).
