Auction result misses estimated price range
In December 2017 a collector was able to acquire the work Second Painting (Drawings Group) by David Ratcliff for USD 1,250.00 (€ 1,039.76). This price was achieved in the auction First Open | Post-War & Contemporary Art at Christies in New York and was even below the estimate range of USD 3,000.00 – 5,000.00 set by the auction house. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by David Ratcliff achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Abstract Painting (Floor) in February 2007 with an auction result of USD 22,800.00 (€ 17,233.56).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Im Dezember 2017 konnte ein Sammler die Arbeit Second Painting (Drawings Group) von David Ratcliff für USD 1.250,00 (€ 1.039,76) erwerben. Dieser Preis wurde in der Auktion First Open | Post-War & Contemporary Art bei Christies in New York erzielt und lag noch unterhalb der von dem Auktionshaus angesetzten Schätzpreisspanne von USD 3.000,00 – 5.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von David Ratcliff erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Abstract Painting (Floor) im Februar 2007 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 22.800,00 (€ 17.233,56).
