Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Untitled Ghost Painting (Void If Detached) by David Ratcliff was auctioned at Christies in Amsterdam in November last year. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of EUR 800.00 – 1,200.00, the actual price achieved of EUR 882.00 could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by David Ratcliff achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Abstract Painting (Floor) in February 2007 with an auction result of USD 22,800.00 (€ 17,233.56).

Die Arbeit Untitled Ghost Painting (Void If Detached) von David Ratcliff kam im November letzten Jahres bei Christies in Amsterdam zur Auktion. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von EUR 800,00 – 1.200,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von EUR 882,00 konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von David Ratcliff erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Abstract Painting (Floor) im Februar 2007 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 22.800,00 (€ 17.233,56).
