Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
In October this year Phillips in New York held the auction Editions & Works on Paper, which included the work The Holy Bible: Old Testament by David Hammons. The »bidding war« ended at USD 8,255.00 (€ 7,811.32), 18% above the upper estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by David Hammons achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work without title in November 2013 with an auction result of USD 8,005,000.00 (€ 5,883,433.78).
