Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Money Tree (P. 31) by David Hammons was sold in the Editions & Works on Paper: Online Auction auction at Phillips in 6 - in September this year. The price achieved of USD 2,540.00 (€ 2,399.85) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 2,000.00 – 3,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by David Hammons achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work without title in November 2013 with an auction result of USD 8,005,000.00 (€ 5,883,433.78).

Die Arbeit Money Tree (P. 31) von David Hammons wurde im September diesen Jahres in der Auktion Editions & Works on Paper: Online Auction bei Phillips in 6 - versteigert. Der dabei erzielte Preis von USD 2.540,00 (€ 2.399,85) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit USD 2.000,00 – 3.000,00 angegeben worden. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von David Hammons erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit ohne Titel im November 2013 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 8.005.000,00 (€ 5.883.433,78).
