Auction result well in line with expectations
In November 2005 Christies in Melbourne held the auction AUSTRALIAN, INTERNATIONAL & CONTEMPORARY PAINTINGS, which included the work The Adjournment, The Nosgay, A Barrister Summing Up His Judge, A Judge Thinking of His Childhood by David Boyd. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of AUD 14,000.00 – 18,000.00, the actual price achieved of AUD 14,937.50 (€ 9,367.93) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Admittedly, works by David Boyd have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Monoliths, 1962 in May last year with an auction result of AUD 51,045.00 (€ 47,567.79).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im November 2005 führte Christies in Melbourne die Auktion AUSTRALIAN, INTERNATIONAL & CONTEMPORARY PAINTINGS durch, in der auch die Arbeit The Adjournment, The Nosgay, A Barrister Summing Up His Judge, A Judge Thinking of His Childhood von David Boyd zur Versteigerung kam. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von AUD 14.000,00 – 18.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von AUD 14.937,50 (€ 9.367,93) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von David Boyd auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Monoliths, 1962 im Mai letzten Jahres mit einem Auktionsergebnis von AUD 51.045,00 (€ 47.567,79).
