Auction result misses estimated price range
In December 2008 a collector was able to acquire the work The Bishop by David Boyd for GBP 3,750.00 (€ 3,938.59). This price was achieved in the auction Modern and Contemporary Australian and South African Art at Christies in London and was even below the estimate range of GBP 4,000.00 – 6,000.00 set by the auction house. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by David Boyd achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Monoliths, 1962 in May last year with an auction result of AUD 51,045.00 (€ 47,567.79).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Im Dezember 2008 konnte ein Sammler die Arbeit The Bishop von David Boyd für GBP 3.750,00 (€ 3.938,59) erwerben. Dieser Preis wurde in der Auktion Modern and Contemporary Australian and South African Art bei Christies in London erzielt und lag noch unterhalb der von dem Auktionshaus angesetzten Schätzpreisspanne von GBP 4.000,00 – 6.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von David Boyd erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Monoliths, 1962 im Mai letzten Jahres mit einem Auktionsergebnis von AUD 51.045,00 (€ 47.567,79).
