Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Australian Figure Under Fruit Trees by David Boyd was sold in the Important Australian Art auction at Sothebys in Melbourne in August 2009. The price achieved of AUD 31,200.00 (€ 18,343.10) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as AUD 25,000.00 – 35,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by David Boyd - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Monoliths, 1962, which sold at auction in May last year for AUD 51,045.00 (€ 47,567.79).

Die Arbeit Australian Figure Under Fruit Trees von David Boyd wurde im August 2009 in der Auktion Important Australian Art bei Sothebys in Melbourne versteigert. Der dabei erzielte Preis von AUD 31.200,00 (€ 18.343,10) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit AUD 25.000,00 – 35.000,00 angegeben worden. Für andere Arbeiten von David Boyd mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Monoliths, 1962 beobachtet, die im Mai letzten Jahres für AUD 51.045,00 (€ 47.567,79) versteigert wurde.
