It achieved a price of AUD 24,600.00 (€ 14,916.06), exceeding the upper end of the estimate range by 37%. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by David Boyd - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Monoliths, 1962, which sold at auction in May last year for AUD 51,045.00 (€ 47,567.79).

Die Arbeit The Death of Ben Boyd, 1970 von David Boyd kam im November diesen Jahres bei Bonhams in Sydney zur Auktion. Sie erzielte dabei einen Preis von AUD 24.600,00 (€ 14.916,06) und übertraf damit das obere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne um 37%. Für andere Arbeiten von David Boyd mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Monoliths, 1962 beobachtet, die im Mai letzten Jahres für AUD 51.045,00 (€ 47.567,79) versteigert wurde.
