The work Australian children Playing At The River by David Boyd was sold in the Important Australian Art auction at Sothebys in Melbourne in August 2008. The »bidding war« ended at AUD 26,400.00 (€ 15,410.95), 32% above the upper estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by David Boyd - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Monoliths, 1962, which sold at auction in May last year for AUD 51,045.00 (€ 47,567.79).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 32 % übertroffen
Die Arbeit Australian children Playing At The River von David Boyd wurde im August 2008 in der Auktion Important Australian Art bei Sothebys in Melbourne versteigert. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von AUD 26.400,00 (€ 15.410,95) und damit 32% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Für andere Arbeiten von David Boyd mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Monoliths, 1962 beobachtet, die im Mai letzten Jahres für AUD 51.045,00 (€ 47.567,79) versteigert wurde.
