Auction result well in line with expectations
In December 2008 Sothebys in Amsterdam held the auction Modern and Contemporary Art, including 1950 Northern European Avant - Garde, which included the work Eun by Cole Morgan. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of EUR 4,500.00 – 6,500.00, the actual price achieved of EUR 5,000.00 could thus just exceed the lower estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Cole Morgan - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Stripes, which sold at auction in June 2001 for NLG 29,375.00 (€ 14,119.00).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Dezember 2008 führte Sothebys in Amsterdam die Auktion Modern and Contemporary Art, including 1950 Northern European Avant - Garde durch, in der auch die Arbeit Eun von Cole Morgan zur Versteigerung kam. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von EUR 4.500,00 – 6.500,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von EUR 5.000,00 konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Für andere Arbeiten von Cole Morgan mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Stripes beobachtet, die im Juni 2001 für NLG 29.375,00 (€ 14.119,00) versteigert wurde.
