Auction result well in line with expectations
In April 2000 Christies in New York held the auction Photographs, which included the work Spector of Coca-Cola: 1962 (c.1976) by Clarence John Laughlin. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of USD 3,000.00 – 4,000.00, the actual price achieved of USD 3,055.00 (€ 3,361.21) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Clarence John Laughlin - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work 'The Final Act (Belle Grove Plantation)', which sold at auction in October 2016 for USD 11,250.00 (€ 10,262.73).
