Auction result misses estimated price range
In July 2018 a collector was able to acquire the work Three works: The Incredible Avenue, 1946; Titanic Arcade Oak Alley, 1946; and A House and Its Own World, 1951 by Clarence John Laughlin for USD 1,750.00 (€ 1,494.96). This price was achieved in the auction MoMA: Tracing Photography's History at Christies in New York and was even below the estimate range of USD 2,000.00 – 3,000.00 set by the auction house. Admittedly, works by Clarence John Laughlin have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work 'The Final Act (Belle Grove Plantation)' in October 2016 with an auction result of USD 11,250.00 (€ 10,262.73).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Im Juli 2018 konnte ein Sammler die Arbeit Three works: The Incredible Avenue, 1946; Titanic Arcade Oak Alley, 1946; and A House and Its Own World, 1951 von Clarence John Laughlin für USD 1.750,00 (€ 1.494,96) erwerben. Dieser Preis wurde in der Auktion MoMA: Tracing Photography's History bei Christies in New York erzielt und lag noch unterhalb der von dem Auktionshaus angesetzten Schätzpreisspanne von USD 2.000,00 – 3.000,00. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Clarence John Laughlin auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit 'The Final Act (Belle Grove Plantation)' im Oktober 2016 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 11.250,00 (€ 10.262,73).
