When the work Five works: Transplanted France no. 1, 1938; Partial Triumph over Time, 1946; The Fruits of Restoration no. 5, 1947; A Louisiana Rarity, 1946; and Shadows of Peace no. 4, 1948 by Clarence John Laughlin was auctioned at Christies in New York in July 2018, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of USD 4,000.00 – 6,000.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for U Admittedly, works by Clarence John Laughlin have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work 'The Final Act (Belle Grove Plantation)' in October 2016 with an auction result of USD 11,250.00 (€ 10,262.73).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als die Arbeit Five works: Transplanted France no. 1, 1938; Partial Triumph over Time, 1946; The Fruits of Restoration no. 5, 1947; A Louisiana Rarity, 1946; and Shadows of Peace no. 4, 1948 von Clarence John Laughlin im Juli 2018 bei Christies in New York versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus.
