Auction result misses estimated price range
In July 2008 a collector was able to acquire the work Big Tomb In A Small Cave by Christian Ward for GBP 2,750.00 (€ 3,493.91). This price was achieved in the auction Contemporary Art Day Sale at Sothebys in London and was even below the estimate range of GBP 5,000.00 – 7,000.00 set by the auction house. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Christian Ward - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Desert Hole, which sold at auction in September 2011 for USD 10,625.00 (€ 7,900.22).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Im Juli 2008 konnte ein Sammler die Arbeit Big Tomb In A Small Cave von Christian Ward für GBP 2.750,00 (€ 3.493,91) erwerben. Dieser Preis wurde in der Auktion Contemporary Art Day Sale bei Sothebys in London erzielt und lag noch unterhalb der von dem Auktionshaus angesetzten Schätzpreisspanne von GBP 5.000,00 – 7.000,00. Für andere Arbeiten von Christian Ward mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Desert Hole beobachtet, die im September 2011 für USD 10.625,00 (€ 7.900,22) versteigert wurde.
