In June 2012 Sothebys in New York held the auction Contemporary Art, which included this untitled work by Christian Schumann. The »bidding war« ended at USD 3,438.00 (€ 2,713.92), 72% above the upper estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Christian Schumann achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Untitled (Faces) in November 2000 with an auction result of USD 44,650.00 (€ 51,357.26).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 72 % übertroffen
Im Juni 2012 führte Sothebys in New York die Auktion Contemporary Art durch, in der auch diese Arbeit ohne Titel von Christian Schumann zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von USD 3.438,00 (€ 2.713,92) und damit 72% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Christian Schumann erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Untitled (Faces) im November 2000 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 44.650,00 (€ 51.357,26).
