Auction result misses estimated price range

When this work without title by Chris Succo was auctioned at Sothebys in New York in October 2020, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of USD 5,000.00 – 7,000.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for USD 3,780.00 (€ 3,245.47). Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Chris Succo achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Everything In It's Right Place (BKNP) in April 2015 with an auction result of GBP 45,000.00 (€ 61,795.38).

Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne

Als diese Arbeit ohne Titel von Chris Succo im Oktober 2020 bei Sothebys in New York versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 5.000,00 – 7.000,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für USD 3.780,00 (€ 3.245,47) den Besitzer. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Chris Succo erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Everything In It's Right Place (BKNP) im April 2015 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 45.000,00 (€ 61.795,38).
