In June this year Phillips in London held the auction Evening & Day Editions, which included the work Afro Lunar Lovers I by Chris Ofili. The »bidding war« ended at GBP 2,413.00 (€ 2,808.32), 34% above the upper estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Chris Ofili achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work The Holy Virgin Mary in June 2015 with an auction result of GBP 2,882,500.00 (€ 4,064,288.82).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 34 % übertroffen
Im Juni diesen Jahres führte Phillips in London die Auktion Evening & Day Editions durch, in der auch die Arbeit Afro Lunar Lovers I von Chris Ofili zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von GBP 2.413,00 (€ 2.808,32) und damit 34% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Chris Ofili erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit The Holy Virgin Mary im Juni 2015 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 2.882.500,00 (€ 4.064.288,82).
