Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
This work without title by Chris Ofili was sold in the First Open: Post-War and Contemporary Art Online auction at Christies in Paris in July this year. Here, the upper estimate of GBP 5,000.00 was slightly exceeded - the artwork found a new owner for GBP 5,040.00 (€ 5,880.15). Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Chris Ofili achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work The Holy Virgin Mary in June 2015 with an auction result of GBP 2,882,500.00 (€ 4,064,288.82).
Oberer Schätzpreis leicht übertroffen
Diese Arbeit ohne Titel von Chris Ofili wurde im Juli diesen Jahres in der Auktion First Open: Post-War and Contemporary Art Online bei Christies in Paris versteigert. Dabei wurde der obere Schätzpreis von GBP 5.000,00 leicht übertroffen – das Kunstwerk fand für GBP 5.040,00 (€ 5.880,15) einen neuen Besitzer. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Chris Ofili erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit The Holy Virgin Mary im Juni 2015 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 2.882.500,00 (€ 4.064.288,82).
