Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Untitled (Diptych) by Chris Ofili was auctioned at Christies in Brussels in October this year. The price achieved of GBP 25,200.00 (€ 28,936.60) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 20,000.00 – 30,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Chris Ofili achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work The Holy Virgin Mary in June 2015 with an auction result of GBP 2,882,500.00 (€ 4,064,288.82).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Untitled (Diptych) von Chris Ofili kam im Oktober diesen Jahres bei Christies in Brüssel zur Auktion. Der dabei erzielte Preis von GBP 25.200,00 (€ 28.936,60) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit GBP 20.000,00 – 30.000,00 angegeben worden. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Chris Ofili erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit The Holy Virgin Mary im Juni 2015 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 2.882.500,00 (€ 4.064.288,82).
