Auction result well in line with expectations
The work To You, Far Away by Chinatsu Ban was auctioned at Phillips in New York in May 2010. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of USD 15,000.00 – 20,000.00, the actual price achieved of USD 16,250.00 (€ 13,137.68) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Chinatsu Ban - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work My Favorite Things- Eighth Of Ten Brothers (Set Of Two), which sold at auction in October 2009 for HKD 475,000.00 (€ 41,528.30).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit To You, Far Away von Chinatsu Ban kam im Mai 2010 bei Phillips in New York zur Auktion. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 15.000,00 – 20.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von USD 16.250,00 (€ 13.137,68) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Für andere Arbeiten von Chinatsu Ban mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit My Favorite Things- Eighth Of Ten Brothers (Set Of Two) beobachtet, die im Oktober 2009 für HKD 475.000,00 (€ 41.528,30) versteigert wurde.
