In April 2014 Sothebys in Hong Kong held the auction Contemporary Asian Art, which included the work Flapping Underpants (Set Of Three) by Chinatsu Ban. The »bidding war« ended at HKD 212,500.00 (€ 19,763.88), 42% above the upper estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Chinatsu Ban - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work My Favorite Things- Eighth Of Ten Brothers (Set Of Two), which sold at auction in October 2009 for HKD 475,000.00 (€ 41,528.30).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 42 % übertroffen
Im April 2014 führte Sothebys in Hong Kong die Auktion Contemporary Asian Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit Flapping Underpants (Set Of Three) von Chinatsu Ban zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von HKD 212.500,00 (€ 19.763,88) und damit 42% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Für andere Arbeiten von Chinatsu Ban mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit My Favorite Things- Eighth Of Ten Brothers (Set Of Two) beobachtet, die im Oktober 2009 für HKD 475.000,00 (€ 41.528,30) versteigert wurde.
