Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work River, River by Chen Qiulin was auctioned at Christies in New York in October 2018, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of USD 3,000.00 – 5,000.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for USD 1,625.00 (€ 1,433.99). Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Chen Qiulin achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work The Garden No.1 in October 2015 with an auction result of CNY 162,500.00 (€ 23,296.28).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als die Arbeit River, River von Chen Qiulin im Oktober 2018 bei Christies in New York versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 3.000,00 – 5.000,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für USD 1.625,00 (€ 1.433,99) den Besitzer. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Chen Qiulin erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit The Garden No.1 im Oktober 2015 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von CNY 162.500,00 (€ 23.296,28).
