Auction result well in line with expectations
In March 2014 Christies in London held the auction Old Master, Modern & Contemporary Prints, which included the work Le Stryge (Schneiderman 27) by Charles Meryon. The price achieved of GBP 2,500.00 (€ 3,025.88) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 2,000.00 – 3,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Charles Meryon - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work La Morgue (D., W. 36; S. 42), which sold at auction in March 2006 for GBP 4,560.00 (€ 6,533.66).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im März 2014 führte Christies in London die Auktion Old Master, Modern & Contemporary Prints durch, in der auch die Arbeit Le Stryge (Schneiderman 27) von Charles Meryon zur Versteigerung kam. Der dabei erzielte Preis von GBP 2.500,00 (€ 3.025,88) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit GBP 2.000,00 – 3.000,00 angegeben worden. Für andere Arbeiten von Charles Meryon mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit La Morgue (D., W. 36; S. 42) beobachtet, die im März 2006 für GBP 4.560,00 (€ 6.533,66) versteigert wurde.
