Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Sunday Morning at Eleven O’Clock by Charles Ephraim Burchfield was sold in the Modern Day Auction auction at Sothebys in New York in May last year. The price achieved of USD 107,100.00 (€ 99,804.31) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 80,000.00 – 120,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Charles Ephraim Burchfield achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Cherry Blossom Snow in May 2018 with an auction result of USD 1,812,500.00 (€ 1,553,127.68).
