Auction result misses estimated price range
This work of art by Charles Demuth could be acquired at Christies in New York in May 2018 for an unexpectedly low price. In the The Collection of Peggy and David Rockefeller: Fine Art, Day Sale auction, the work Flowers: A Double-Sided Work changed hands for USD 40,000.00 (€ 34,275.92) - missing the lower end of the estimate range of USD 60,000.00 – 80,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Charles Demuth achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work In The Key Of Blue in December 2013 with an auction result of USD 1,685,000.00 (€ 1,222,875.39).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Dieses Kunstwerk von Charles Demuth konnte im Mai 2018 bei Christies in New York für einen unerwartet niedrigen Preis ersteigert werden. In der Auktion The Collection of Peggy and David Rockefeller: Fine Art, Day Sale wechselte die Arbeit Flowers: A Double-Sided Work für USD 40.000,00 (€ 34.275,92) den Besitzer – und verfehlte damit das untere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von USD 60.000,00 – 80.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Charles Demuth erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit In The Key Of Blue im Dezember 2013 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 1.685.000,00 (€ 1.222.875,39).
