Despite a disappointment, a good price for Charles Demuth
When the work In The Key Of Blue by Charles Demuth was auctioned at Christies in New York in December 2013, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of USD 1,800,000.00 – 2,400,000.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for USD 1,685,000.00 (€ 1,222,875.39). Despite this disappointing result, In The Key Of Blue is the most expensive artwork by Charles Demuth that we have observed at auction so far.

Als die Arbeit In The Key Of Blue von Charles Demuth im Dezember 2013 bei Christies in New York versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus.
