Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
The work Rooftops by Charles Demuth was sold in the Modern American Masterworks from the Ted Shen Collection auction at Christies in New York in April this year. Here, the upper estimate of USD 100,000.00 was slightly exceeded - the artwork found a new owner for USD 100,800.00 (€ 91,304.35). Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Charles Demuth achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work In The Key Of Blue in December 2013 with an auction result of USD 1,685,000.00 (€ 1,222,875.39).
Oberer Schätzpreis leicht übertroffen
Die Arbeit Rooftops von Charles Demuth wurde im April diesen Jahres in der Auktion Modern American Masterworks from the Ted Shen Collection bei Christies in New York versteigert. Dabei wurde der obere Schätzpreis von USD 100.000,00 leicht übertroffen – das Kunstwerk fand für USD 100.800,00 (€ 91.304,35) einen neuen Besitzer. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Charles Demuth erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit In The Key Of Blue im Dezember 2013 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 1.685.000,00 (€ 1.222.875,39).
