Auction result misses estimated price range
This work of art by Charles Demuth could be acquired at Bonhams in New York in November 2021 for an unexpectedly low price. In the American Art auction, the work Dunes changed hands for USD 27,812.50 (€ 24,641.18) - missing the lower end of the estimate range of USD 40,000.00 – 60,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Charles Demuth achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work In The Key Of Blue in December 2013 with an auction result of USD 1,685,000.00 (€ 1,222,875.39).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Dieses Kunstwerk von Charles Demuth konnte im November 2021 bei Bonhams in New York für einen unerwartet niedrigen Preis ersteigert werden. In der Auktion American Art wechselte die Arbeit Dunes für USD 27.812,50 (€ 24.641,18) den Besitzer – und verfehlte damit das untere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von USD 40.000,00 – 60.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Charles Demuth erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit In The Key Of Blue im Dezember 2013 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 1.685.000,00 (€ 1.222.875,39).
