In April 2019 Phillips in London held the auction New Now, which included the work Punktebilder (Dot Paintings) by Carsten Höller. The »bidding war« ended at GBP 11,250.00 (€ 13,087.00), 41% above the upper estimate. Admittedly, works by Carsten Höller have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Hippopotamus in February 2008 with an auction result of USD 198,000.00 (€ 130,374.66).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 41 % übertroffen
Im April 2019 führte Phillips in London die Auktion New Now durch, in der auch die Arbeit Punktebilder (Dot Paintings) von Carsten Höller zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von GBP 11.250,00 (€ 13.087,00) und damit 41% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Carsten Höller auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Hippopotamus im Februar 2008 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 198.000,00 (€ 130.374,66).
