Auction result misses estimated price range
This work of art by Carsten Höller could be acquired at Phillips in New York in April 2019 for an unexpectedly low price. In the Evening & Day Editions auction, the work Canaries changed hands for USD 12,500.00 (€ 11,159.72) - missing the lower end of the estimate range of USD 15,000.00 – 25,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Carsten Höller achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Hippopotamus in February 2008 with an auction result of USD 198,000.00 (€ 130,374.66).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Dieses Kunstwerk von Carsten Höller konnte im April 2019 bei Phillips in New York für einen unerwartet niedrigen Preis ersteigert werden. In der Auktion Evening & Day Editions wechselte die Arbeit Canaries für USD 12.500,00 (€ 11.159,72) den Besitzer – und verfehlte damit das untere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von USD 15.000,00 – 25.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Carsten Höller erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Hippopotamus im Februar 2008 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 198.000,00 (€ 130.374,66).
