In December 2019 Sothebys in London held the auction The Hoarder Sale, which included the work Strabilia Twister With Carousel by Carsten Höller. The »bidding war« ended at GBP 6,875.00 (€ 8,125.45), 72% above the upper estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Carsten Höller achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Hippopotamus in February 2008 with an auction result of USD 198,000.00 (€ 130,374.66).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 72 % übertroffen
Im Dezember 2019 führte Sothebys in London die Auktion The Hoarder Sale durch, in der auch die Arbeit Strabilia Twister With Carousel von Carsten Höller zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von GBP 6.875,00 (€ 8.125,45) und damit 72% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Carsten Höller erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Hippopotamus im Februar 2008 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 198.000,00 (€ 130.374,66).
