This artwork by Carmen Herrera achieved an unexpectedly high price at Sothebys in New York in May last year. In the Contemporary Day Auction auction, the work Red, Orange and Black sold for USD 151,200.00 (€ 140,900.20) - well above the upper estimate of USD 80,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Carmen Herrera achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Blanco Y Verde in March 2019 with an auction result of USD 2,900,000.00 (€ 2,582,828.64).

Dieses Kunstwerk von Carmen Herrera erzielte im Mai letzten Jahres bei Sothebys in New York einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Contemporary Day Auction wurde die Arbeit Red, Orange and Black für USD 151.200,00 (€ 140.900,20) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von USD 80.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Carmen Herrera erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Blanco Y Verde im März 2019 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 2.900.000,00 (€ 2.582.828,64).
