etching, 1587-90, with an unidentified watermark, a very good impression of the first state (of two), printing with tone and polishing scratches, trimmed to the borderline, with a central horizontal drying crease, visible mainly on the reverse, occasional pale staining and very minor defects on the reverse, otherwise in good condition

It achieved a price of GBP 13,200.00 (€ 19,472.78), exceeding the upper end of the estimate range by 65%. Admittedly, works by Camillo Procaccini have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Buste D'Homme Criant in March 2021 with an auction result of EUR 162,500.00.

Die Arbeit The Transfiguration (B. 4) von Camillo Procaccini wurde im September 2006 in der Auktion Old Master, Modern and Contemporary Prints bei Christies in London versteigert. Sie erzielte dabei einen Preis von GBP 13.200,00 (€ 19.472,78) und übertraf damit das obere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne um 65%. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Camillo Procaccini auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Buste D'Homme Criant im März 2021 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von EUR 162.500,00.
